Christmas week

Wow there are so many things going on that I haven't posted. Some of the funny's the kids have done....

Elijah wanted to play tractors. He kept asking and then he decided to play. He made these funny noises and then falls backwards with his feet in the air. Boom! All of the sudden I busted out laughing because I realized what he was doing. He was doing the tractors from the Cars movie. Now if you have seen that you know what I am talking about. It was hilarious. He loves that movie.

Dawn was wanting some tickles and looks up at me and says " I have massive amounts of love, don't you want to tickle it?"

Joanie was at the kitchen table eating her sandwich. Something was in it. I have no idea how it got there. She pulls it out and says what is this? It looks like a stick. Then with a very funny voice. THink the Incredibles ... Fro Zones wife, "that is the grossest thing I ever did see."

Rosie has had an ear infection and only cried the past few days. I was all excited that she sat through breakfast this morning. It hasn't done alot for exercise but when they are little you can't help but to love 'em.

Since the ear infection Christmas was filled with crying but the rest of the kids had fun. They were super excited to get up in the morning and find out what they got. It was fun. After that we went to Gramma's house, ate dinner and spent the evening playing. Then we went to look at Christmas lights.

Christmas eve was at Dh Dad's house. The kids had so much fun playing with there cousins. That is always a Christmas treat for them. The boys especially like playing football. I was so excited to see how much Josiah was doing. He made me want to shout for joy just to hear him talk.

One week left with no school. We are enjoying the break.

Mung Beans

I was having one of those days were I was slow moving. The house work was calling but the motivation was not there. I decided to give it my best for a few minutes. Sometimes 20 minutes can make a big difference .... that is without mung beans. I decided to move the buckets so the house didn't look cluttered. Unfortunately, I picked up a 25lb bag of mung beans that split down both sides. Not just a little hole I mean the whole thing! Boy was I unhappy about that. Joy sweetly tried to help me pick up the beans and put them in a container. Then she got the broom with Elijah and they started sweeping. Elijah was so excited about what we picked up in the dust pan he dropped the whole thing on the floor again! My dd didn't say a word and just reswept. Sometimes you can just be thankful that they try so hard when you need it. Sometimes she is so messy but made up for it. Now if you can guess all of the places 25lb of mung beans can hide you know we just started to clean them up! I have a feeling they will haunt us for a long time. As far as the house cleaning... it didn't happen just mung beans!

Shadows

Oh my goodness little ones are too cute. Rosie discovered her shadow on the ground and was trying to pick it up! I have seen them chase there shadow or be amused at how it followed them. This is the first of watching those little fingers try to grasp for it.

The other week D. got mad at Daddy. That is so funny because he is all Daddy's! So he worked very hard at trying to ignore Daddy with a smurk. Daddy couldn't put him to bed either. So he decided he would carry a groodge. Yes I spelled that right. He worked up a good one right up until Daddy visited Joanie at school. Boy did he ever notice he wasn't bothered and it wasn't worth it. So when Daddy came home he had to let the groodge go and was hanging all over him. I think Daddy ate every minute of it.

Elijah is loving the pops corn! He only finished up 7 bowls. Yikes I don't know where he put it but he enjoyed every minute of it. We had a few very cold wet days which led to alot of movies. I just love the old Christmas classics. We did slip one non seasonal movie in which was so funny. It is called The Thrill of it All with Doris Day. That one the boys can't wait to watch again.

Well we have most of our Christmas shopping done. Unfortunately the hardest people are left. I have been shocked at the way I have seen stores jack up the prices. I am now thinking I will make sure I buy before the season.

We are trying hard to get the children to think outside of themselves. We made them go work in the neighbors yard. Boy they didn't want to do that. The boys saw their little sisters willing and didn't want to be left out. Once they got there they had so much fun. Now if we can just get them over the fear of doing it.

Rosie

A Good Morning Birthday Kiss!

How could you resist anything sweeter than a birthday kiss from your little brother!

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! I am sitting here in a quiet house while the kids are at my Mom's. I don't know what to do with the quiet but it is a nice change. I am waiting for Rosie to wake up.

We had Joanie's 7th birthday on Sunday. It was so sweet to go out with her shopping and have her all to myself. She is a very thoughtful shopper. She had in her mind what she wanted and carefully made her selection. We looked at stuff for over 2 hours. I think she debated between two different doll sets in the Target for 20 minutes alone. She was so excited to decorate her cake and be the star.

Daniel was so excited for someone else's birthday to get more cake. He thinks it is for him. He tried to blow out Joanie's candles on her.

Heidi went missing on us. She stowed away in the car for 30 hours and had us worried. It is amazing how much a cat can mean that greets you until they are not there. We are just so thankful it wasn't summer when she tried this adventure.

Moriah is loving her cursive handwriting and giving us beautiful notes everyday. I keep thinking I need to have a box to save these treasures. Everyday you get them you wonder how you can keep them and so they get tossed once the fridge is too full. I am thinking of making each child a box to store there most precious creations. I look back at them and smile!

My hair

Man I just tried a new shampoo out yesterday and was excited because my hair looked great. I come and sit down and Joy decides to beautify me. I have my hair in 3 pony tails and a band around the top. Well about half way through the day my bangs were standing straight up! Yikes! I kept it up because she was so excited about it and thought mommy looked beautiful. Wouldn't you know she has styled me again! I wish I could take a picture to show you how I look! My would you be laughing at me! Think flashbacks to childhood that only a child could get away with.

Laughing food

Oh my goodness I think I put something extra funny in the food tonight! I don't know what it is about dinner time but it always excites our kids. My oldest is eating his food with a weird look on his face and goes "Mom are these beans out of season?" I look and say "a little they are peas!" Of coarse when you start to think about it how did he get to middle school and not know what a pea was. I just busted out laughing at him. I couldn't believe he was serious. Really it is not a strange thing for us to be eating.

That just totally started our kids on the funny trail. Then we all look over at the baby who was just sitting there making obnoxious noises to fit right in. Oh my goodness she is so one of them. They all thought it was funny.

Then JD decides to complain about school. They only let you use the bathroom for 30 seconds 3 times a semester. SO I look at him and go what do you precipitate on the floor the rest of the time. Is this good economics or something... the janitor only has to clean 3 times a semester and less water usage? Then I am thinking what do all the teachers get together just to say which child used the bathroom to max there 3 times. Really I found that funny. So don't you know that just highlighted our funny farm tonight.

Well I sure hope we accomplish something before the day is done! Yikes we are full of it!

November 13, 2008

Last night I was sitting on the sofa when D came up and snuggled on one side and JD on the other. All I could help but think is life doesn't get any better than that! I can't believe how big the boys are now. Sometimes I am afraid to blink because I think they will be all grown up! D. is taking archery now and really enjoying it. We are trying to decide whether to get him a bow and arrow for Christmas. We really want to support him in what he is doing. On the same hand safety is always an issue. Joel is still pushing for basketball.... it is his passion right now.

Rosie just seems to be growing in leaps in bounds. I can't believe how much weight she has packed on. She has become quite the pig for one who wouldn't eat. She is sleeping through the night now which is such a huge relief. She has been waving for awhile but now says bye with it. Mama tops her all time favorite word though. You know I love every minute of it. I think she has become a living doll to all of her brothers and sisters. I don't think I have ever seen one child get so much attention. Good thing she likes it.

Joy and Elijah have emptied their toys in the bathroom sink and now in the tub for an afternoon of entertainment. It is a cold rainy day so I can't figure out how they can still stand to be in there. I am enjoying the peace.

Elijah is back to his smiley self and getting more independent. This morning he woke up at 5 am to visit with his sisters. I went to wake them up for school and found him up on Dawn's bed. Too cute they were in there having a party. Good thing they didn't mind.

Joanie has a big project due for school on back then vs now. I have been enjoying this one. I am trying to figure out how a 5th grade project is suppose to be done by a 1st grader.

Dawn is finally deciding to use her roller skates. I think she has found her backside a few times but keeps pressing on. Yikes!

Church

We have been doing home church for lack of finding one we like. So Sunday David is trying to teach the kids about respect. So feeling he has not made his point he throws the Bible at them! Okay just imaginge the shocked look on my face. If you know David you know how calm and mild mannered he is. So it looked so funny to watch him do that. I am thinking the kids didn't learn anything but Daddy threw the Bible at us. Hopefully next week will go better.

Glitter

Well we always here the saying all that glitters is not gold. Well it is gold glitter. Elijah and Joy decided to submarine their brothers with glitter. Where they got it I will never know. Lets just say that JD and D's pillows, clothes and room is full of sparkles. D took a shower before bed last night which made it all stick. So as he was trying to get ready for the bus he was trying to desparkle with no chance of it happening anytime soon. Then he wet his hair thinking it would help. I think a 5th grade boy going to school sparkling is a bit of a mortifying experience! He tried to take a good attitude though. Just think of what your kids can get into when you try to clean and can NOT keep your eyes constantly on them.

JD started all of the submarining because of watching Parent Trap. I think I am sorry I let them watch the old movie which I thought was tame. You never know what will spark something in your children. Jd was leaving the wrappers on the kids food and stuffing it in there sandwiches while making lunch. Joy found it so humorous that she decided to strip the beds in the girls room. She has been very creative in what she finds to do. I have also learned you have to watch out for the quiet ones.... who knew they could be so devious!

I have to say all of the trouble they got into yesterday started out with the best greeting. Elijah ran down the hall all excited to see me. His little body gave the biggest sqeeze and then he looked up at me with those big blue eyes and goes "Good morning Mama, I missed you!" It can't get any better then that so I guess I will take the creativity!

More horns

Today was so funny. They were dressed for the occasion at the Trader Joe's. Joy just did not get it since we do not celebrate the holiday. So as we were turning the isle my dd looks and goes mommy that lady really did grow horns. She was so shocked you could really grow horns. It didn't register until we were checking out and the lady had horns on her head. I just wanted to bust out laughing at the lady because my dd was seriously worried about growing horns. She was so shocked that when another employee all decked out went past her asked her if she really looked scarey. Of course I answered yes you do!

Jd had job shadowing today and got to go to work with Daddy. He decided work was more fun than school and Daddy doesn't do alot. He thinks the word supervisor means you just watch what others do. I think he missed the work. Work treated him to pizza and let him watch tv on a big screen. If work was always that fun we would all love it!\

D. stowed away in the back of gramma's car. Boy does he ever know how to get out of chores and bypass a meal he doesn't want to eat.

Today's funnies

Joy goes to get the mail and comes back. Mommy this is important mail. I said what is so important about it. She goes there is a dog stuck up in a tree. I look down to see the campaign adds have a dog barking up a tree. She was so worried about that dog. That's a way to get votes!

Joanie is concerned about our neighbors. She tells her Daddy someone has died at Mrs Young's house. Of course concerned my dh goes where. She keeps pointing so dh keeps following. She is really upset because the neighbors have buried someone in their front yard. Finally my dh sees the headstone with rip on it. Let's just say the halloween decorations are seriously concerning her. Nothing more reassuring then dead people sleeping accross from you in the middle of the night

Horns

Oct 26, 2008

Well I have to post about Elijah's horns. He woke up rather tired the other day. You know the kind of day were everything is an issue! So nice mom that I am ...I tell him I am growing horns and growl. Of course that was too irrisistable for staying mad for long. With his arms crossed and his cross expression emerges a smile. So of course I have to egg him on. Now we have contest at who has bigger horns. It sure beats having to yell at him about his attitude. Now we just grow horns and laugh! Gotta love the simple things!

My Kids

Oct 26, 2008

We have 7 beautiful children all with thier own personalities!

JD is 11. He is sweet and compassionate. Yes a boy would love to be called that. He is the protector of all of his siblings. He dreads being the oldest but is everything a big brother ought to be. He is always sure to keep everyone in line. He loves sports and hopes to play basketball for the school next year! He always loves to be a ham.

D is 10. He tends to have a serious dry sense of humor. He tries hard at everything he does. He is loving and responsible. There is no pulling a joke on him, he is super observant about everything. He is tender hearted and won't let me be hard on anyone. He always keeps me in line. Gotta love that about him. He loves honesty and always wants to know exactly what is going to happen. D loves football and action heroes.

Dawn is 8. She loves adventure. If there is a happening she is always ready! She is super energetic and full of life. She is every bit of her gorgeous red hair. She tries super hard to do stuff for everyone. She is the one that always makes sure we remember everyone and everything. She loves to jump, run. dance and be silly. Her favorite thing is to play teacher in hopes of becoming one.

Joanie is almost 7. She is miss excitement. It doesn't matter how simple something is she brings life to it. You can not be calm with her..... everything is so super animated! She keeps us happy and on our toes. She is super sweet, girly and more of a home body. Everything is pink... she can't get enough of it! She loves anything princessy there could be.

Joy is 5. She is calm and quiet. She loves to play with her sisters and brothers. Everyday she greets them off of the bus just waiting for a happening. She loves to be with other kids. Joy loves to be a princess and has a wonderful imagination. She is all girl and tenderhearted. She watches out for everyone... a definite caretaker!

Elijah is 2. He lives to smile... such a happy child. Noone is a stranger to him .... the ultimate greeter. He gets excited for everyone and everything. There is no quiet calm child there. If there is life he has it. He loves to be a star, play cars, trucks, Bob the Builder, firetrucks and choo choo trains. He adores playing with his brothers and sisters! Everyday he just waits to greet them at the door and play.

Rosie is 9mos. She is cute with her full little cheeks. She loves to wake up in the middle of the night and snuggle with mama. Too cute but it sure is making me tired. She is a little nuzzle baby. She gets quite the adoration from her brothers and sisters. She is really relaxed and peaceful. She gets very animated for things that bother her though. She is into all of the baby things... crawling and into everything.

David's Brithday

Oct 24, 2008

Today was David's brithday! He was so excited for a cold rainy day. What a gift. I had to keep reminding him God was watering that beautiful grass he wanted to grow.

He was feeling a bit ancient... all of 39! Goodness you would think it was his 100th birthday instead. We decided to have great fun with his cheesecake. We dyed it green and put army 9 army men on the top. He was the white one in the middle with the white cotton ball beard and a sword for a cane. We all surrounded him. We lit all 39 candles which took 1.5 minutes for 2 of us to light. Boy that was warm I thought we could have started a fire! He could only blow out 36! Boy age will get ya!

Today he is going to a football game with D. Daddy and son are way excited!

Joy's Birthday

Oct 22,2008

Today Joy turned 5! It was a crazy day! We just found out Elijah has worms! Yuck! My whole day was spent trying to get rid of the gross critters! He was so excited about his sisters birthday and his brand new present. He greeted everyone in the driveway saying it's my sisters birthday and I've got worms! He was so excited. Then his Gramma shows up. His friendly greeting hey Gramma I've got worms in my butt! He is so proud of his prized possession! Well we were so glad that he was excited for worms.... only a little boy could be! We all just laughed it made great humor for a birthday cake!

Joy was so excited for her clothes and princess dress. She felt like a star!
